Gothenburg quartet Walking Corpse formed in 2017 and comprise of members of local bands As You Drown/Toxic Piss (vocalist Henrik), Nox Vorago (Magnus, drums) Red Antlers (Tim, bass) and London’s Dead Existence (Fred, guitars). Their debut EP is a relentless aural assault, highlighting their dedication to and knowledge of death metal and grindcore. Taking cues from Brutal Truth/Discordance Axis/Vomitory, this band have secured the balance between chaos and control. Opening track Trephine showcases their musicianship and power, with frenetic fretwork, colossal drums and vocals to wake the dead. From start to finish this EP is a statement of malicious intent and a superb teaser of what’s to come from Walking Corpse.
